The Introduction to Nondestructive Testing training course is taught by industry icon Chuck Hellier, who literally wrote the book on NDT Training. This is a four hour course that will take the learner through several training modules covering the major NDT methods.
The following NDT disciplines are covered:
- Visual Testing (VT)
- Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
This training presents the benefits and limitations of each method, as well as the logic behind the decision to use one method of NDT as opposed to another. The various techniques available within each of the five NDT disciplines presented are discussed and demonstrated with emphasis on the most appropriate method to use for the material to be examined. Explanations and examples as to the differences between false indications, non-relevant indications, and relevant indications, inherent discontinuities, processing discontinuities, and service discontinuities are covered.
This is the ideal program for engineers, managers, supervisors and technicians who will no be performing the examinations but rely on information garnered from NDT. This course will provide immediate insight and instruction as well as give you better decision making skills relating to work performed on your behalf by either in-house NDT departments or NDT contractors.
You may progress through the navigation free training concentrating on areas of most interest to you. Quizzes and a final exam are available but not mandatory.
